random fact {no.2}

I am sorry to say this...but I am not a big fan of kids. I am missing that part of the human gene that makes you go 'awww~' when you look at a baby.

My perception of kids has allowed me to have a somewhat unbias thought on procreation, and I have come to the conclusion that adding one more kiddo on Earth will cause an exponential increase in population over the following years. Oops, that got a bit sciency, haha!

Maybe my views on this will change in the near future. Maybe it won't. I'm not saying its wrong to have babies because by all means, I have heard that they are the most joyous little things to have and to cherish in this world. It is just that my conscience (and preference, for that matter) won't let me.

I do however believe in adoption and in looking after the kids we now have in this world.

So I have been sponsoring a community in the Trincomalee area of Sri Lanka via ChildFunds. To be specific, I am sponsoring Prabodhika and her community. Its the least I can do for being anti-baby.

This is {no.2} of the seven random facts I plan to share from silvii's tag. Read {no.1} here. Also, hop over to read the seven random facts silvii shared about herself! It will be a bonus if you like typography! ;)

biologically clock-less for now, xo

PS: Many thanks to Valerie, Di and tabulyogang for the recent follow! :)

It's funny because I have always felt the same about kids, but now that I've been married a year, I really want one. It's strange how the biology takes over, and children are gradually beginning to look cuter to me. But I've still never changed a diaper!

p.s. thank you back for following me!

Kids are fun to be with if and only if they behave themselves and they don't go wailing around like Tarzan. I don't think even Tarzan does that.

My greatest buddy and I had a chat about this earlier and we both agreed that the only reason why we didn't want kids in the future is the thought of them living in this deteriorating planet. It's scary to know how temperature rises rapidly now.

Despite all that, I do want to have kids. I think it's a special gift. :)

ps: that's a very sweet thing of you sponsoring a child. I'd love to sponsor a child when I earn my own income next time. :)

I agree with you, kids are sweet but not for me! I am definitely not one of those baby lovers who goes up to strangers babies & says hi. However, I think what you are doing is great! Good for you : )

Glad that you sponsor Prabodhika. Waiting for your next random fact. :)

I like how you're spreading the "7 facts" over many posts! It's okay to not want kids yet. When you're young, ambitious and have a number of goals you want to achieve before you settle down, it's perfectly normal to feel that way. You do things when you want to, not when society says you should.

Ah hah.. finally meet your Sri Lankan 'daughter' :)

Good job in highlighting ChildFund in your post - many thumbs up from me; much more than I want to cuddle a soft cuddly baby :P

Thank you for the warm welcome - I tried to read this post yesterday, but then it disappeared. I'm one of those missing the mommy gene too - and always thought if I ever got the urge to mess up (I mean raise) a child, adoption is a great way to help someone already on the planet.

I've left an award for you over at my place if you'd like to pick it up! http://valunboxed.blogspot.com/2011/03/say-hello-to-twins.html

Hi, Sara Louise!
Is that even possible? For kids to look cuter over time? I guess I'll have to get married first then! :)

Hello, tabulyogang!
I fear I might have to gently expose myself to them before I have my own...haha! PS: Most welcome! ;)

Hi LiLing! :)
I think when kids do that, they mean to cause you hearing damage. Tarzan just wanted friends :p

Thanks for stopping by, Raquel! Finally, an anti-baby too! :D

Sure thing, Balqis! :)

Silvii!!
Spreading it over that many posts means it'll take super long though. Fancy realising that after starting out :p Love your comment! I feel the exact same way :)

Evelyn dear!
Can you see the resemblance? I think we share the same nose :p

Hi, Valerie!
Haha, thats me accidentally clicking 'publish' before I was done. Thank you so much for the award! Ah, you're gonna have me raking out seven really random facts about myself by then! :D
